Northeast Outdoor Show Outdoor 3-D Shoot at Neighbors Gun Club

This year the Northeast Outdoor Show along with Neighbors Gun Club is proud to present the second 3D Archery Shoot.

This Archery Shoot will feature multiple classes and will be an indoor shoot where all competitors will shoot from the same line. 

Time slots will open and expand based on participation and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve order. Each slot will feature up to 30 competitors.

All competitors MUST be able to shoot out to 40 yards unless special classes are selected for the first shoot of the day and all classes are defined by equipment only.

Registrations must be done in advance and are only $30 per competitor. Tickets include admission to the Northeast Outdoor Show, a ticket to a future Neighbors Gun Club Shoot, and a ticket to the Hudson Valley Food Truck Festival on June 24th, 2023 at Barton Orchards in Poughquag. ($45 value!)

Competitors must check in a half hour before their assigned time.

CLASSES (CLASS SELECTION HAPPENS DURING CHECK OUT PROCESS):
1. Hunter Class (HC)
In a Compound hunting bow, the sight shall have fixed pins, without lens or magnification. Arrows must have screw-in points and at least three (3) feathers or vanes. Only one stabilizer may be used. Stabilizers must be no longer than 12 inches measured from the point of attachment. (For the purposes of this rule, any device adding length or weight to the stabilizer shall be considered part of the stabilizer and shall be subject to the 12-inch rule.) Un-weighted vibration dampeners are not considered to be stabilizers; however, un-weighted vibration dampeners attached to the stabilizer are measured as a part of the stabilizer. Equipment in this class may be shot with a finger tab, shooting glove, or release.

2. Advanced Hunter Class (AHC)
A compound bow, Movable sights are allowed, and archers may use a lens with no restrictions on magnification. Arrows must have at least three (3) feathers or vanes. Any stabilizer system up to 12 inches long may be used. Additional Vbars maybe be used. Unweighted vibration dampeners are not considered to be stabilizers; however, unweighted vibration dampeners attached to the stabilizer are measured as a part of the stabilizer and are subject to the 12-inch rule. Equipment in this class may be shot with a finger tab, shooting glove, or release. AHC archers may use glue-in points.

3. Unlimited Class
Any bow & all target equipment, compound, recurve, or longbow shot with no restriction on sights, stabilizers, or style of release.

4. Female Unlimited
All compound, recurve, or longbow shots with no restriction on stabilizers or style of release. No sight restrictions shooters may use a lens with no restrictions on magnification. No arrow restrictions.

5. Youth Unlimited (max 25 yards) - ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE 10:30 AM SHOOT
The youth class is for archers under 18 years old. Equipment shall consist of a compound, recurve, or longbow shot with no restriction on sights, stabilizers, or style of release. No arrow restrictions.

6. Recurve / Longbow (max 25 yards) - ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE 10:30 AM SHOOT
A recurve or longbow shot with fingers directly contacting the bowstring using a glove, finger tab, or bare fingers. A rest and plunger are all that may reside within the sight window of the bow. A clicker is allowed. All arrows shall be of the same material and be of uniform length and weight. String walking and face walking are permitted. A stabilizer measuring 12” or less may be used in Recurve

7. Female Hunter (max 25 yards) - ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE 10:30 AM SHOOT

8. Senior unlimited class 55 years old & up
All compound, recurve, or longbow shots with no restriction on stabilizers or style of release. No sight restrictions shooters may use a lens with no restrictions on magnification. No arrow restrictions.

SCORING:
Scoring Arrows
Scores will be tabulated as follows:

a. 11 points: 11 ring or “X” ring centered inside the 10 ring
b. 10 points: 10 ring or heart
c. 8 points: Vital
d. 5 points: Body
e. 0 points: Miss or arrow not touching body color.
c. An arrow shaft touching the line of a greater scoring area shall be given the higher score. Arrow parts that extend beyond the shaft such as feathers, vanes, or nock collars, cannot be used to score the arrow.
d. Arrows must stick in the target in order to receive a score other than a zero with the exception of a pass-through, Robinhood, or bounce-back

Equipment Failures and Leaving the Course
Once an archer begins a shooting course, he or she must finish with his or her group unless given permission to leave by a range official, or in the event of equipment failure his or her shooting group. Any archer or group that leaves a range without the authorization of a range official will not be allowed to continue

Tie Scores, Unsportsmanlike Conduct and Misc.
11s will be used to break ties. The archer with the most 11s will be the winner. However, if two or more archers still finish with identical scores, the host club will declare a shoot-off. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated, and any competitor acting in such a manner may be asked to leave without being offered a refund. Range Master's decisions will be final.

 

Restrictions

Must bring your own equipment.
Must have not consumed alcohol prior to the shoot.
All competitors will be required to sign a release prior to participating.
